Well,
BIG NEWS! My new book is officially out today, July18th. It's called
Should This Octopus Have Fewer Legs? published by Adams Media. I worked
on it last year for about 3 months and somehow managed to keep it all a
secret. No longer, beans shall be spilled.
It's
a collection of funny, fake "take one" street flyers, meant to be
ripped out and posted up. You've probably seen flyers like these on the
web here and there, maybe you've stumbled onto one or two out on the
street. I have a couple times, they're like these little gems that
always made me laugh, made my day. My editor Halli Melnitsky and Adams
Media had the brilliant idea of creating a compilation book spotlighting
this type of street phenomenon, and asked me to make it! We
brainstormed a ton of ideas and went with the best ones, it was a great,
fun collaboration. What's really cool is that not only did I do all
the artwork, I designed every page, fonts and all, except the cover
which was designed by Elisabeth Lariviere.
In
this book you’ll find all sorts of madness - homages to your favorite
movies, off-the-wall pop culture references, pun-tastic plays on words
and straight-up redonkulous notices, plus a couple takes on the
classics. All in all, it's a sure fire way to perk up your room or any
telephone pole, community bulletin board, or bus stop in your hood - one
sign at a time.
